For much of the past two seasons, james lebron favored the wearing of his Nike Ambassador 13 sneaker on its emblematic models of the Nike LeBron Line. While the Signal line typically features bulkier high-top shoes with highly visible Max Air cushioning, the Ambassador 13 scales it down a bit – it’s a low-top shoe that’s a little more like a protective shoe with just cushioning. ZoomAir. Perhaps one of the reasons James kept going to the Ambassador 13 is because it’s a shoe that better suits his game, even at 37. There’s more evidence to support this theory with the on-court debut of the Nike LeBron 20.
With the LeBron 20, we get a shoe that looks unmistakably like an offspring of the Nike Kobe 4 and 5 era merged with the Kobe 9 and 10 Elite era. It’s still built with the knit that’s become a staple of the LeBron lineup, the Swooshes are somewhat out of place and extend past the rear portion of the shoe, and there’s no visible Max cushioning. . The shoe’s exact technical specifications have not been announced, but Complex has confirmed with sources that it is indeed James’ next signature model, and not another ambassador.
It remains to be seen whether or not the Lakers will be able to retool and pursue another championship this season, but there is history on the horizon for James either way. He’s only 1,325 points away from passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, and the LeBron 20 could very well be part of that moment.
