The presumed No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft doesn’t wait until Thursday to get paid. Cade Cunningham reportedly signed a shoe deal with Nike on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The deal would be the highest paying shoe deal among players in Cunningham’s draft class.
At least one other draft draft pick signed a shoe deal this offseason. Jalen Green – who could go to the Houston Rockets with the No.2 pick overall – signed a shoe contract with Adidas in April.
Cade Cunningham set to become No. 1 overall
It is assumed that Cunningham, 19, will be selected with the No.1 pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday. Prior to the draft, Cunningham worked with only one team, the Detroit Pistons, who hold the No. 1 pick in the draft. Odds makers at BetMGM think Cunningham is a big favorite to pick with this pick.
Cunningham dominated in his only season with Oklahoma State, averaging 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists in the freshman. The performance helped Oklahoma State go 20-8 in the regular season, which earned the team a No.4 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Oklahoma State passed Liberty in the first round but fell to Oregon State in the second round of the tournament.
