MEMPHIS, Tenn. – MPD needs your help in identifying six suspects they claim burgled and stole a local City Gear on Monday morning.
According to Memphis Police, the burglary occurred around 7:00 a.m. in the 2900 block of Lamar Avenue in Cherokee. The suspects drove to the company and smashed the front window.
The video showed the suspects robbing the store, which police said amounted to $ 40,000 worth of Nike shoes and clothing.
Police said the suspects fled the scene in a black Chevrolet Malibu and a dark SUV. No arrests were made.
Police responded to a number of similar attacks and seizures over the past month.
In early December, a City Gear on Frayser Boulevard was hit twice by thieves within days of each other.
That same week, a streetwear-like Bad Timing break-in in the University of Memphis area was also filmed.
Days before Christmas, MPD posted video of an SUV crashing into the front doors of Hibbets Sports on Shelby Drive.
Police said four men dressed in black Infinities fled with around $ 12,000 in clothes. Menton said he has a good idea of what the crooks are doing with their stolen loot.
“Sell it on the internet or sell it on the street, but they definitely sell it,” Moten said.
Police have charged twin brothers Darnell and Daniel Grayer in the City Gear robbery in Frayser.
